Shawnee Pottery was started in Zanesville, Ohio, in 1937. The company made vases, pitchers, flowerpots, planters, lamps, cookie jars, and salt & pepper shakers. The company closed in 1961.

Excellent condition. No chips or cracks.  Gold paint on nose and feet indicates this is a "second."  The cold paint was used to cover flaws in the glazing, making the piece highly sought after.
